Loving People Into the Kingdom # 5

Passage: 1 Corinthians 9
Service Type:

This week at NTC Plattsburgh, Pastor Don expands on why the apostle Paul became all things to all men: for the sake of the Gospel! Just as an Olympic athlete exercises self-control and trains nonstop to win the prize, so too did Paul train to live a self-disciplined and purposeful life for one goal: to win others to Christ! God gave all His children, including Paul, an appetite for earthly things to enjoy but if they come to govern us, they can destroy us. For this reason, Paul compels us to discipline our lives for our salvation and the glory of God. “Therefore I do not run like someone running aimlessly; I do not fight like a boxer beating the air. No, I strike a blow to my body and make it my slave so that after I have preached to others, I myself will not be disqualified for the prize.” 1 Corinthians 9:26-27 (message notes below)
